Thundering Paws does not have a facility as many rescue organizations do. We place animals in the loving care of a family environment. When we physically rescue an animal, we either keep it in our home or place it in a volunteer foster family. We then oversee the medical needs of the rescued animals. Sometimes we are called by someone who is unable to keep their dog or cat. We assist them in finding the right individual or family to adopt their pet. We assist by making posters and advertising the dog or cat as available for adoption. We put the animal’s picture and or write-up about the pet on the website. We also do limited long term foster care for people who do not want to surrender their pet but must be gone for long periods of time. We take care of them until their owner can return. Finally, we periodically conduct pet adoption clinics where the animal can be brought to a location for people to see and consider adopting.
