Mosaic Raku Urn

Out of stock

Raku urn handmade by local Master Potter, John Hyder.

Raku is an ancient Japanese pottery firing technique that requires removing a glazed pot from the kiln while hot and sealing it in a container filled with a various flammable materials. As the combustable material burns, the smoke causes the exposed clay to turn black, copper glazes turn to metallic and the white glazes to crackle, giving Raku finished pottery its distinctive appearance.

This exquisite urn features a hand painted mosaic of striking glazes and is a beautiful tribute for a companion up to 120 pounds and can be purchased with or without our cremation service.
